ASOCIATIA ATELIER SACELEAN is aiming to enable underprivileged children to rejoin or
remain in the education system and to access better opportunities for the future
FOR THE CHILDREN
Our main activities are the courses we run in our small Educational Center:
- to get some help with learning,
- to get help with their homework,
- to learn English,
- to learn how to use a computer,
- to play and have fun,
- to learn social skills ( tolerance, acceptance, Christian values),
- to learn traditional crafts.
We also are trying to persuade non attenders back in school, identify special needs and try to find some help.
For the children who dropped school we find what their options are and registered them in the
special classes for children with learning difficulties.
Also, we provide them with the financial means needed for transportation and school gear.
We are making contacts with different companies to enable them to find work at the age of 18.
FOR FAMILIES
- Practical support
- For the families who have many children and no or
very small income we try to find fonds to buy detergent, hygienic and cleaning products.
- We financially support a family with 6 children and a single mother.
- We pay the utility bills for another family with 9 small children.
- We often assyst in obtaining ID's for the children.
- Education
- When we visit the families we talk with them about cleanliness,
nutrition, tolerance, parenting skills and family planning.
- Information
- We help them find out about their rights.
